Rebels begin evacuation in southern Syria
Fifty rebels and their families were evacuated on Thursday from the last opposition bastion in southern Syria under a Russian-sponsored deal to avert a military showdown in the strategic border area with Jordan and Israel
The evacuation is part of a deal to restore security in Daraa.
It said the Syrian authorities wanted 100 armed men to leave Daraa for the rebel-held areas in northern Syria.
Russian military police entered the neighbourhoods in Daraa al-Balad area to prepare for the evacuation.
