Qatar to emerge as a leader of the Islamic world at the expense of Riyadh?

The Taliban rapid success is indeed ‘unexpected’ as it easily and swiftly taken control much of the country in short of span of time right after the withdrawal of US troops in Afghanistan.

One country suddenly emerged as key player and portrayed the mediating role between various forces. For several days, Doha has officially requested a ceasefire from the Taliban leadership. But all those Qatar actions seems goes at the expense of Saudi Arabia, the first country to reopen in Qatar to please the United States. In acting as a mediator between the United States and its local allies on the one hand and their historical adversaries on the other.

Will going against Saudi really guarantees Qatari Leadership in the Islamic world. Perhaps, another long shot but well played dream of ambitious Qatar?
