Migrant workers’ leave cancelled in Qatar

Leave facility for migrant workers have been cancelled in Qatar ahead of the FIFA World Cup slated for November 2022. Usually, after the completion of two years of work, the migrant workers are eligible for leave to visit their families in India as large numbers of migrant workers working in Qatar are from India, especially Telangana.

Various companies in Qatar, where Indian workers are sizeable, told them orally not to avail leave up to August 2022. As a result, hundreds of Indian workers stayed back in Qatar.
